Friday 25th September, after Garth's report of Sunspots, I set-up the Celestron 8" SCT on the driveway around 4.30pm.
I used a white light full aperture solar filter and could immediately see two sunspots. As I viewed them I could see there were
multiple components to the Western Spot and some much smaller spotlets running away from it. There were also some spotlets
visible near the Eastern Spot. By Saturday afternoon the number of components had reduced and I didn't see the spotlets
anymore. a few pics of the Sunspots taken with a Canon 300D at prime focus - 125th second exposures. |
